HOW TO STAY

Information for our guest families

Who can stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas?

Seriously ill or injured children (and their families) who are under the age of 22 and are receiving treatment in a pediatric environment in the Dallas area

The following requirements must be met to stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

The initial referral must be made by a social worker where the child is being treated in Dallas, or a Medicaid worker (Medical Transportation). At this time, we do NOT accept email referrals.

Once the initial referral has been made, Ronald McDonald House of Dallas will contact the family to confirm room availability. We cannot guarantee placement until the day of need. Ronald McDonald House reserves the right to verify appointments with the medical service provider.

The child must have a permanent address at least 40 miles from Dallas. All adults, including patients 18 and older, staying in the house must have current, valid government issued photo identification and pass a criminal background check.

Are you a returning family?

Returning families need to contact their hospital social worker, medical team member, or Medicaid representative (Texas Medicaid/Medical Transportation) and have them place a referral on your behalf. We are no longer allowing families to self-refer.

Does it cost anything to stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas?

During their stay at Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, all guests are provided lodging, meals, laundry facilities, and many other services. Guests are never required to pay anything, but if you or someone on behalf of you would like to make a donation to the House, we welcome $15 a night to help offset costs. However, if this presents a hardship for a family, no family is turned away regardless of their ability to donate.

Our current safety guidelines: (Guidelines are subject to change, please call the house at 214-631-7354 with questions)

  1. Room occupancy is limited to 5 (no more than 4 adults).
