Creating More Space for Families to Stay Together
Give families the gift of hope away from home.

Home is Where the Family Is

When a child is in the hospital, every moment matters.

Families come to Ronald McDonald House Dallas during the most vulnerable moments of their lives, hoping to stay close to their child’s bedside. Today, we do not have enough space to meet that need.

In 2024, 180 families were turned away because there was no room. In 2025, that number rose to 576.

We believe when families are together, they cope better. We believe no family should have to deal with their child’s medical crisis alone.

For 45 years, Ronald McDonald House Dallas has been more than a place to sleep. We have provided comfort, stability and a sense of home during some of life’s most uncertain moments. But extraordinary growth within the Dallas Medical District and rapidly expanding pediatric population mean our current space can no longer keep pace.

For those who are able to stay at Ronald McDonald House Dallas, the impact extends beyond comfort and proximity. A two-week stay at Ronald McDonald House of Dallas can save a family an estimated $5,352 in lodging, meals, transportation and related expenses, easing financial strain during an already challenging time.

Creating More Space for Families to Stay Together

To ensure that our house remains within reach for every eligible family, Ronald McDonald House Dallas is launching a $65 million campaign to expand our House and ensure no family is forced to face a medical crisis alone.

The expansion will add 131 additional guest rooms, including long-term stay and transplant accommodations designed for families facing extended and intensive treatment. Beyond increasing the number of rooms, the expansion will also create welcoming spaces where families can gather, rest and find comfort, including:

An enlarged dining room
to serve more families

Comfortable gathering
and lounge spaces

New outdoor spaces,
including a rooftop terrace

Family kitchens
on each floor

Expanded parking and
strengthened infrastructure

Play areas
for children
