The Conyers Crew, consisting of Mom, Dad, Clary Jo, and Cylee, has been a cherished part of the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) family for several years. Their journey began in 2012 when they first came to RMHD due to Clary Jo’s sibling, Cylee, being born with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect. At just three years old, Clary Jo fell in love with RMHD and still does to this day.

 

Clary Jo was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2021, which led the family to visit RMHDallas approximately once a month for specialist appointments. Despite facing challenges, including Clary Jo experiencing 20-30 absence seizures a day and a Grand Mal seizure about once a month, the Conyers Crew finds comfort and joy in their visits to RMHD.

 

The girls’ excitement is palpable as they make the turn onto Bengal Street to stay at their beloved home-away-from-home, exclaiming, “We’re here! We’re here!” They eagerly participate in the activities planned for them, showing a special fondness for our Cheif Cheer Officer, Shiloh, our Playroom, craft room, the family kitchen, and the “heart wall.”

 

The love and care they receive from the wonderful staff and volunteers at RMHD create a healing and protective environment for the Conyers Crew. They believe that RMHD has the power to change lives for the better, emphasizing that “Love is the key to the house.”

 

The Conyers Crew’s story is a beautiful testament to the impact of Ronald McDonald House Dallas and the love that radiates within its walls. Their journey reminds us of the importance of compassion, healing, and the power of love in difficult times.
